HISTORY

In December 1997, Retired Sergeant Major Daniel Stevens and Retired Federal Manager, Carol Stevens, decided to make a difference in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and their families. They created Nia Association, Inc. as a premier organization to provide quality and caring personal care services for people with disabilities. Nia Association was created with a vision of compassion and economic development that has supported over 50 adults and youth. Clients choose whether to live in their family homes or move to a community-based, single family home acquired by Nia Association. Specialized care is administered in accordance with each client’s Individual Support Plan.

Nia Association is recognized as one of the leading employers in Clarksville, TN. Administrators strive to balance supreme service provision with employee appreciation through competitive pay, benefits and recognition for their dedication. Nia Association possesses the prestigious DIDD Four Star Rating. This rating is the highest possible classification and attests to the excellent orchestration, continuous supervisory monitoring protocols and compliance by dedicated staff. The Nia family is dedicated to creating purposeful environments for all individuals supported. This rewarding business ministry is committed to enhancing the lifestyles of many formerly institutionalized people that are now experiencing fulfilling, community-based supported living. Friendships have been fostered through coordination and unification efforts of many people who sought true “Purpose” within their lives. Nia Association has expanded its disability support services to include Disabled Veterans and their family members.
